Daily Arrival/Dismissal Safety Procedures

Arrival: If you would like to park and walk your student to the buildings, please park in the main lot and cross at the corner of Sunnyside and Lowell. Please do NOT cross in the middle of the street. We want to prevent an accident.

The right side of Sunnyside is a drop-off-and-go lane between 7:40-8:05. The left side of Sunnyside is a drive through lane of traffic. Pull all of the way up to the flag pole to let children out of cars and continue driving. Do not get out of your car or park in the drop-off lane.

For families dropping off at the Dominican Learning Center, please do not park on the right side of Lowell. Leave that lane clear for through traffic. If you would like to park and walk your children to the building, please park in the main parking lot and leave the left side of Lowell as a drop off lane.

For families dropping off at Room 5 (Ms. Zimmerman), please pull up to Ms. Zimmerman's classroom on the right side of Sunnyside and walk your child to the classroom door. Do not park on the left side of Sunnyside and cross in the middle of the street.

Dismissal: Students in the Dominican Learning Center will be dismissed to a parent or guardian listed on the emergency form from classroom doors. As we will be utilizing the Dominican Learning Center for extended care, please exit the playlot by 3:05 (2:05 on Wednesdays).

Students in 1st-3rd grade will be walked outside by teachers and dismissed directly to a parent or guardian on the emergency form. Students in 4th-8th grade will be walked outside by teachers and dismissed.

Any student attending extended care or an after school activity will report directly to extended care or to the activity and not go outside at dismissal. If students are not picked up by 3:05 (2:05 on Wednesdays), staff will bring the student to the office, and the office will contact parents. If a parent cannot pick up a student by 3:15, the student must be checked into extended care.
