Job Title: Big Red Summer Camp Counselor

Location: St. Edward School
Duration: 8 Weeks (Dates: June 9, 2025-August 1, 2025 with a pre-camp meeting in early June)
Position Type: Seasonal/Part-Time

Overview:  Join our vibrant team at St. Edward School Summer Camp, where we provide a fun, faith-filled environment for children ages 3-13. Our camp emphasizes community, learning, and the values of our Catholic faith while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all campers.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and Engage: Lead groups of campers in a variety of activities, ensuring their safety and well-being while fostering an inclusive atmosphere.
• Plan Activities: Collaborate with other counselors to develop and implement daily schedules, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and faith-based activities.
• Promote Faith Integration: Incorporate Catholic teachings and values into camp activities, helping campers grow in their faith through prayer, reflection, and community service.
• Create a Positive Environment: Build rapport with campers, encouraging participation, teamwork, and respect among peers.
• Maintain Safety Standards: Ensure a safe and clean environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Communicate Effectively: Maintain open lines of communication with campers, parents, and staff, addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.
• Participate in Training: Attend pre-camp training sessions to understand camp policies, emergency procedures, and activity planning.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience working with children in a camp, educational, or similar setting is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A commitment to upholding and promoting the Catholic faith and values.
• First Aid/CPR certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain prior to camp).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
